I've not got this 100% straight in my head yet, here is my 1st attempt

and just make the mobs progressively harder, putting a mini boss in the small nebulae and a boss in the big nebulae please
OK, this is a great idea. I love 99% of this idea.... BUT
Why are we converting the files instead of just sending them as .TMX files? they are smaller, and you'd be able to review the files in TILED format as easy or maybe easier than the converted text files? Although one issue is people store the .PNG files in different locations so may be hard to do it that way... (I can't load the testmap.tmx file as it looks for the all_tiles.png file in your user account in your dropbox folder

Just checking... have you cleared this to stop abuse by people at base defense?
Get a level 40 alt in a dummy clan to tap CC once at start of defense then run out of range so no-one else under 50 can attack CC?
So, if someone was to drop an artifact in brood boss room, is it then unretrievable?
I was trying to test this earlier to see if it would let me into BB room, but I DC'd before I could place it.
That was cobbled together from other bits I had. I can make a very low poly count base using just some primary shapes.
How about this?
If there is no exit, the 3 smug rotation would need a tkr to yank them out of the BB room is what supa is thinking IMO, but this would hurt DF groups a lot unless the timing was balanced. Maybe use a longer cooldown on obfus? Or make the skill that the bosses cast still damage... give them the ability to use that to kill an obfus'd smug and also make it decloak a smug in range? you could also give brood bosses a "debuff" skill.

Bump mapping makes the wall tiles look sweet... just the floor tiles need altering now
I have no clue on lua, sorry. Is it going to be the same format for making quests with the new client?
If someone in the know can post a dictionary of the syntax used, I guess people would have more chance of createing content?

That latest image is looking sweet. There are some free insect objects on turbosquid, but you'd have to sort their moving parts (legs/wings) out... If you can do that and show a youtube clip, I'm sure even the doubters will be suitably impressed!
Now, I've not done much of this, but I know everyone wants new content, so some fanbased would be nice.
To create a map type /editmap mymap.txt
Then, when you save it, you will find a file called "mymap.txt" or simply "mymap" with the notepad image in your "data" folder.
To give some idea of scale, on your minimap, 1 pixel is 1 tile., and your radar size is 128x128 pixels, but most bases are around 85 x 85 pixels.
Also, could we have an email address to upload these to Supa / Angus?
I think all drops belonging to the group leader at the start, and simply saying "I'm collecting conds, can you move them when they drop please" would be easy enough.
And still has the admins "tripping over the server cable"... although on a Sunday I think it's due to 1 too many sherry's at lunchtime
"ISP maintenance" is code for tripped over the server cable?
OK, brief explanation.
Angus and Supanova have access to the server normally, but both are really busy. Supa is probably out at work, and Angus is swamped as usual, so it's as soon as 1 of them gets to a point that they can access the server to see 1st what's wrong, and 2nd how to bring it back online.
My guess is at a lunch break or this evening

There is a simple solution... do not sleep, eat, go to the toilet, or have a life... everything will be peachy then
The 3D image is not true 3D It's a flat 2d image set back. It would need the walls to start really close and end far away, and the floor to be far away and the ship to be a lot closer. Once sorted tho, that will be a great addition to HS!
The server does seem a lot less stable recently.
Any clue what you guys are doing about models? Gonna go for the free open licenced ships or are you looking for people to contribute models? I know a few people have made models for HS in the past (Hunter and Whitefang) and I also know kuchervano was working on remodeling some hulls.
Also, are you going to be keeping spiders as bosses? Making them move correctly may be troublesome! To be anatomically correct a spider has 7 knees per leg, thats 54 joints moving at a time Get this right and it will look amazing!
