Btw Harvious: there is no new level cap atm. The stats you see is just an example picture of the GUI to see how it will look later (all the data inside it is just for fun).
That latest image is looking sweet. There are some free insect objects on turbosquid, but you'd have to sort their moving parts (legs/wings) out... If you can do that and show a youtube clip, I'm sure even the doubters will be suitably impressed!
Aye, it's coming along nice, fast too, just got basic item movement sorted.
Thing is, we have noting to work with other than the original .bmp for now.
We desperately need 3d models for new items.
More importantly, we need ideas / screenshots of GUI setups.
Any artists out there willing to make a GUI setup and post screenshots here??
And yes we need hulls too, think we are ready to implement different hulls now, item and ship classes are ready for them.

Really nice idea harv, but i would keep the ship status "meters" at top right because where we place the chat frame then?

Aye nice Harv, I was thinking more along the lines of panel backgrounds, buttons to show windows, etc etc. The idea is to remove as much of the bulkiness of the original GUI and have minimal info on screen, until it is asked for Will have them all moveable and individually close all at a touch of a button/click....
I would create a window based system, where we can assign predefined (design) gfx, to support skinning later.

Its a working exe build including music and the combat animation
I have readied my current models into FBX format and will be available online by the end of today so you can test their usability. If it turns out they are too small or too large. Let me know and I can resize them.

Supa added planets and sun yesterday, i thought why not adding another background layer to see how it would look...
PS: The background isnt a final product, because its untiled 16x10 which is eating resources like pacman xD (4096x4096 Trillinear VertexLit Shader)

Bump mapping makes the wall tiles look sweet... just the floor tiles need altering now
Will there be option to change the background with simple black color?
The background isnt used in the final product, we planned to create an own background which fits better to the HS Galaxy, its possible to make the background layers configurable
Your gonna have to change that "Welcome" message soon.
